Boating and Boat Show Season are now in full swing!  After a wet spring, (which is good for the lake level), the sun has been out and the weather has been wonderful.  Hot sunny days and some fall-like cool nights have made for some great days to be on the water.

The 25th Algonac "Plant Jamboree", along with the "Legends of Algonac" dedication was a huge success!  We had 98 registered boats, 20 classic cars, including a superb Pierce Arrow, sunny skies, and a gentle breeze along the docks.  Early morning threat of rain kept some of the cars away, but there were some beauties just the same.  This year's show featured some nice boats from out of state as well as some new local boats.  We were pleased that so many came to enjoy the weekend.

Our National ACBS President,  Gail Turner, was in town for the festivities.  She was impressed by how much effort was put forth by all and what a great chapter we have.  She left with a better understanding of the birthplace of recreational power boating and why we think we have the best fresh water boating in the world.

The whole town of Algonac turned out on Sunday for the "Legends" dedication and 30 plus wooden boats made a nice flotilla as a backdrop for the event.  Thank you Herb Pocklington for all your efforts in uniting the Woods and the Smiths once again.

The rest of the show season is underway.  I hope to see all of you at whatever weekend you can fit into your schedules.  We will once again be in some beautiful venues.

A Happy & Safe Boating Season
